Whats new at The Stratford
The Stratford Hotel is enjoying a £7 million refurbishment programme that is set to transform the city centre hotel into a contemporary four star deluxe hotel.
Phase 1 – October – end of December 2007
41 bedrooms have now been completely refurbished with opulent feature furnishings resulting in a “soft modern” feel to the rooms. These rooms contain all the facilities expected from a modern four star deluxe hotel including LCD televisions, in-room safe, fridge, king size beds in a lot of our rooms and WiFi throughout. All bathrooms have been totally refurbished with new sanitary ware, granite tiling and soft wood flooring.
Phase 1 also saw the refurbishment of four meeting rooms. All located on the ground floor offering meetings from 2 – 60 delegates. These meeting rooms have been modernised with state-of-the-art facilities providing flexible meeting and dining space for all occasions.

Phase 2 – January - March 2008
The beginning of the New Year sees an additional 20 bedrooms refurbished. During this time our main conference room will be extended to hold 120 guests for a dinner dance and 200 theatre style for meetings. The facilities including flexible lighting, dividing acoustic screens, private reception lounge, dedicated conference in-house contact, WiFi and Qhotel’s renowned “Total Meetings Package”. For more detailed information on our Meetings & Events please ask for details at Reception.
This phase also sees the start of our Public Areas being transformed into a sumptuous area in which to relax and our new Bar in the heart of this area being the pivotal place in which to meet, greet and relax with colleagues.
Phase 3 – March – June 2008
The final 41 bedrooms will be completed resulting in 102 executive rooms all offering air conditioning; indeed air-conditioning throughout the whole hotel and interactive television system. The renovation of our Restaurant will also compliment the new and exciting menus that our Chef, Mark Grigg is producing.

Throughout the refurbishment, all furniture, fabrics and electrical items are either being sold or given to local charities including ‘Roundabout’ who are helping victims of the recent flooding and animal rescue centres.
